ABOUT GOOD PITCH AUSTRALIA
Shark Island Institute and Documentary Australia hosted GOOD PITCH AUSTRALIA, and brought the first of these events to Sydney in October 2014. The 2015 event was held on 16th of September and the last in a trilogy of events was held at the Sydney Opera House on 8 November 2016. The community partners for the events were Philanthropy Australia and Pro Bono Australia.
Since the first event in 2014, over $15 million has been raised in philanthropic grants for the funding of 19 social impact documentaries and their impact campaigns: Zach’s Ceremony, Gayby Baby, The Opposition, That Sugar Film, Call Me Dad, Constance On The Edge, Frackman, Blue, Happy Sad Man, The Hunting Ground, Prison Songs, On Richard’s Side, Whiteley, 2040, Ghosthunter, Dying To Live, Guilty, In My Blood It Runs, The Leadership.
Forging priceless pro bono support and 300+ powerful strategic partnerships between community groups, the corporate sector, NGOs and policy makers, Good Pitch Australia wrapped up at the end of 2019 but the campaigns continue. You can read more here.
